What does community mean to you?

Community means a lot of things to me, but if I had to choose one word, I would say family – a chosen family.

How do you find your community?

I find my community through shared experience, but also through people who really listen to you. It’s a mix of both.

How do you celebrate yourself and your community?

I celebrate my community by being kind to myself and kind to others. Listening to people and their stories feels really important to me. But also through marches and special celebrations – I’m a pretty engaged feminist, and events like the 8th of March march are very meaningful to me. we are village is unique in many different ways – the diversity it brings, the type of events, the type of people, and the kind of feelings you can experience in this space.

Can you share a moment at we are village that felt meaningful or stayed with you?

It’s hard to choose just one, but I would say e*xtend, our online event. It was really powerful – we shared so many different feelings with people from beyond Berlin, and that felt genuinely meaningful to me.
