Description
Village Outdoor – From Köpenick to Friedrichshagen
with Harms Wulf and Roy Farias
For our final hike of the year, we invite everyone who stayed in Berlin for Christmas to join us on a walk along the Müggelspree River from Köpenick to Friedrichshagen.
We begin by passing through Köpenick’s historic center, home to its famous town hall and a beautiful Baroque palace. From there, we follow a scenic, nature-filled path along the Müggelspree to where it flows into Lake Müggelsee. Crossing via the Spree Tunnel, we finally arrive in Friedrichshagen on the northern shore.
Friedrichshagen has been a popular destination for Berliners since the 19th century. On Bölschestraße—the town’s traditional promenade, lined with handsome, stately commercial buildings—we are sure to find a café where we can enjoy a relaxed conclusion to our last hike of the year.
What’s Village Outdoor?
Village outdoor Events are monthly meetups for the we are village community and their friends to enjoy outdoor activities in and around Berlin.
Activities include forest hikes, bike tours, swimming in lakes, sightseeing, and kayaking. Each month features a free and easy walk or hike in Berlin or its surrounding areas, accessible by public transport.
Harms Wulf already knows Berlin from the times of division. Since then, he has explored the urban and natural spaces of Berlin and its surroundings both professionally and privately.
At the Village, he is involved with the outdoor events program.
Roy Farias loves nature, hiking as well as exploring new places and is happy to combine this passion in supporting the queer community with his voluntary engagement.
