Unemployed Franz Biberkopf ekes out a living as a hustler. When he wins the lottery, he hopes to gain recognition in the upper echelons of gay circles. He falls in love with an entrepreneur’s son, Eugen, who persuades Franz to invest money in his parents’ ailing print shop. In return, Eugen promises to introduce him to the cultured world.

Curatorial Team: Marcelo Alves, Pierre Emö, David Le Guillermic

Pierre Emö, originally from France, currently lives in Berlin, exploring film, theater, performance, and modeling. His film credits include roles in Yann Gonzalez’s Knife + Heart, Bruce La Bruce’s It Is Not the Pornographer That Is Perverse…, and Henrika Kull’s Bliss. On stage, he performed with Nilsson Eicke in Decameron and The Valkyrie. He was part of the exhibition Fenster zum Klo at the Schwules Museum Berlin and is currently touring with Matthieu Hocquemiller’s performance The Ethics. Pierre is also a member of the Pornceptual collective.
