Description
Instinct #19 _ Performance: BODYHACKING
Performance by Trangels Productions (Luxífera & Blumenatrix)
BODYHACKING is an immersive performative ritual exploring the intersections of health, identity, and technological intervention through the erotic, playful, and politicized dimensions of hormone mixing. Framed as a fetish, the act subverts binary gender norms and reclaims bodily autonomy under the mantra “my body, my decision.”
This deliberate focus on pleasure and defiance challenges reductionist health models and systemic violence against trans bodies, asserting the body as a site of resistance and transformation. The performance culminates in an intimate act of care, inviting audiences to reconsider notions of transhumanism, well-being, and self-autonomy.
Trangels Productions, founded by Luxífera and Blumenatrix, is a Berlin-based platform producing and broadcasting queer events from a migrant, decolonial, and intersectional perspective. Rooted in love and radical tenderness, it celebrates diversity while challenging exclusionary discourses. Through technologies like hormones, drag, and creature-like aesthetics, Trangels amplifies trans experiences as a universal mirror of human diversity.
Blumenatrix (he/him)) – Argentinian travesti-transmasc multidisciplinary artist, medical doctor, and university lecturer based in Berlin.
Luxifera (she/it) – Italian Berlin-based trans femme gender non-conforming artist, movement facilitator, somatic practitioner, and DJ.
About Instinct
Instinct.berlin is an arts organization that presents exhibitions with queer artists twice a year at the Village, a community center for queer people in Berlin. These exhibitions, along with performances and talks, encourage interaction between artists and the local community.
The residency program allows artists to engage intensively with the vibrant atmosphere of the Village and build a bridge between their work and the wider queer community. This collaboration enriches the cultural dialog and supports the development of queer art projects, benefiting both the artists and the community at large.
