What does it mean to be queer and online these days?
We’re hyperconnected in every app yet at the same time feel lonelier than ever. Algorithm-driven social media platforms reward performance metrics -likes, shares and taps that prioritize shallow engagement over connection.
We’re not fixing the algorithm -we’re creating a different kind of space entirely. Our connection room and curated workshops reward presence. You can’t half-ass a mermaid dance or personal storytelling! You have to actually show up, not just post your curated self.
e*xtend is a day full of workshops, where we prioritize connection, conversation, and co-creation.
If you’re a LGBTQIA+ person, want to meet like minded people not just from Berlin but from all over the world, then e*xtend is for you.
Programm
The program offers two virtual gathering spaces designed to foster meaningful connection:
CONNECTION ROOM: Meet your people
Where you can join group games, an online “lunch and chat”, and one-to-one pairings with other queer people that spark meaningful dialogue. Here you can connect with your people and build community regardless of physical distance.
CREATION ROOM: Workshops that get you out of your head
Shared practices -moving, writing, making- build a completely different kind of connection than conversation alone. Our workshops give you tools to explore your body, creativity, and voice:
9:00 – 9:45: Opening Ceremony
- Meet the other participants, learn about ‘we are village’ and create an atmosphere of discovery and connection.
10:00 – 11:00: Workshop 1 – Yoga
- A gentle, guided stretch and movement break designed to help everyone wake up, connect, and come together in a friendly, accessible practice.
13:00 – 15:00: Workshop 2 – Write for Life, Write for Self with Todd Barrowclough
- A reflective writing journey to explore your story through creativity and culture. The workshop is taught in English, but you can write in any language you like.
15:00 – 16:45: Workshop 3 – Dancing Little Mermaid with Jorge Rodolfo De Hoyos Jr
- A fun dance class to loosen those joints and get your body limber! No experience needed, just come as you are, dance like you’re home alone, and get juicy, open, and activated.
We will have lunch together online, and we will begin and end the day with queer ceremony: grounding, intention-setting, and gentle integration.
Practical details
e*xtend takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 9:00 to 17:00 CET. To join, you will need a good internet connection, a laptop or smartphone, and curiosity.
Payment policy
We want every queer person to participate, regardless of their financial situation. e*xtend is by donation – pay what you can. Your contribution supports queer facilitators and keeps this space running.
