Instinct #18

Curatorial tour with Sebastián Arcos & Eric Le Rouge

The curatorial tour at Instinct Berlin offers a unique opportunity to experience the exhibition ”Transmission – Dialogue in Transgenerational Queer Art“.As the eighteenth edition of our Instinct series, Transmission offers an in-depth exploration of LGBTIQ+ identity, history and tradition through the perspectives of artists from different generations. This exhibition uses a variety of artistic mediums, including photography, video, performance and painting, to foster a dialog that connects generations.

Instinct functions as a lively program and social meeting place that strengthens a sense of community among queer artists and visitors. Exhibitions, performances and discussions encourage interaction and dialog and create a space in which diverse identities can be explored and appreciated.

Participants in the tour will not only gain insights into the artworks, but also engage with the central themes of eroticism, waste and power in queer culture. This event emphasizes the importance of community and collaboration and invites people to reflect on the manifestation of these themes in modern life.

About Instinct
Instinct.berlin is an arts organization that presents exhibitions with queer artists twice a year at the Village, a community center for queer people in Berlin. These exhibitions, along with performances and talks, encourage interaction between artists and the local community.

The residency program allows artists to engage intensively with the vibrant atmosphere of the Village and build a bridge between their work and the wider queer community. This collaboration enriches the cultural dialog and supports the development of queer art projects, benefiting both the artists and the community at large.
