Curatorial Tour - Instinct#19 CRUISING
Curatorial Tour with the curation team, Eric Le Rouge, Sebastián Arcos & Pierre Emö
Welcome to our exhibition tour, where we delve into the significant role of cruising in gay and queer culture. Throughout history, cruising has been both a refuge and a form of rebellion, providing marginalized identities with spaces for expression and belonging.
During this tour, we will guide you through the various artworks that reimagine cruising as a rich cultural and political tradition. Our journey will explore how cruising has navigated public spaces, adapted to digital realms, and resisted dominant narratives across different generations.
About Instinct
Instinct.berlin is an arts organization that presents exhibitions with queer artists twice a year at the Village, a community center for queer people in Berlin. These exhibitions, along with performances and talks, encourage interaction between artists and the local community.
The residency program allows artists to engage intensively with the vibrant atmosphere of the Village and build a bridge between their work and the wider queer community. This collaboration enriches the cultural dialog and supports the development of queer art projects, benefiting both the artists and the community at large.
