Description
Togetherness – A Sharing Ritual Intention Dance
Queer Bridges Monday with Alex Carrillo
Togetherness is a movement-based ritual exploring connection with our inner child, body, emotions, and personal stories. Through dance improvisation, writing, and reflection, we transform inner sensations into movement and explore what it means to be truly together; with ourselves, with others, and within our communities. The workshop creates a space for presence, healing, care, and connection, embracing migrant and queer experiences while imagining togetherness as a practice for the future
Alexander is a Colombian queer artist based in Berlin, working across choreography, dance, ritual, coaching, production, and research. His interdisciplinary practice explores gender, identity, culture, transformation, and the relationship between body, sexuality, spirituality, and social norms. Since 2006, he has developed his own artistic and pedagogical method, CUERPO PRESENTE: The Inner Beast – Body Awareness and Personal Growth. His work is deeply influenced by ancestral and Indigenous Latin American knowledge. He is also a certified Personal & Business Coach and MBSR practitioner, and collaborates with GIZ on international peace programs.
Queer Bridges: Forging connections and providing resources for LGBTQIA+ people with experiences of migration and/or displacement.
Queer people with experiences of migration and/or displacement in Berlin often face unique challenges in their daily lives that can limit their access to supportive communities and inclusive environments.
With the support of the Deutsche Fernsehlotterie Stiftung, we have developed the Queer Bridges program to overcome these barriers. We provide resources, networking and support in a welcoming environment for queer immigrants and refugees through our special program. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging to the local LGBTQIA+ community, enabling smooth integration and an improved quality of life for queer folks with experiences of migration and/or displacement.
