Join us for our zine-making workshop! It’s more than just an artistic endeavour—it’s a practice of self-publishing and community building.

Description

Queer Bridges: Zine Workshop

with Inès Lamari

In this zine workshop, we create a space for participants of all ages and backgrounds to explore their creativity freely, whether they are experienced artists or complete beginners.

We’ll start by learning various folding and sewing techniques to create our own unique zines. Then, we’ll dive into storytelling, using both memory and fantasy as our guides. Through a combination of images and words, we’ll bring our personal stories to life in a playful, supportive environment.

Zine-making is more than just an artistic endeavour—it’s a practice of self-publishing and community building. By sharing our zines, we connect with others, creating a collective space for diverse voices and stories. This workshop isn’t just about creativity; it’s about using zines as a tool for personal expression and fostering connections within our communities.

Inès Lamari is a non-institutional artist, and art facilitator. In her art practice she creates space for collective healing, breaking barriers and storytelling as a form of resistance and community building. Lamari’s art unfolds in comics, zines, visual art, community rituals, workshops, performances and formats in between.

Queer Bridges: Forging connections and providing resources for LGBTQIA+ people with experiences of migration and/or displacement. Queer people with experiences of migration and/or displacement in Berlin often face unique challenges in their daily lives that can limit their access to supportive communities and inclusive environments. With the support of the Deutsche Fernsehlotterie Stiftung, we have developed the Queer Bridges program to overcome these barriers We provide resources, networking and support in a welcoming environment for queer immigrants and refugees through our special program. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging to the local LGBTQIA+ community, enabling smooth integration and an improved quality of life for queer folks with experiences of migration and/or displacement. ✅ Our Queer Bridges program will continue to evolve and we are always happy to hear about your needs. If you are interested, you can send us an e-mail to stay informed about further updates.
