Description

Building bridges of belonging – Dealing with loneliness. Creating connections

with Jochen Kleres

Loneliness can have different faces. Some find it difficult to find any contacts. For others it may be difficult to make lasting connections, even and especially in a city like Berlin that offers so many opportunities to meet others. Some may have people around them but still feel the sting of loneliness, even so in intimate relationships. Still others yearn for intimate connections but have difficulties finding them.

This group offers a facilitated space to explore feelings of loneliness and how they affect us. Together we will support one another in searching for, and experimenting with, ways of dealing with loneliness and moving towards more fulfilling connections. We will use methods from creative therapies for this.

If you’re looking to understand and navigate your own feelings of loneliness, and eager to forge deeper connections with others, we invite you to join us in this workshop.

Jochen Kleres is a dance therapist, an alternative practitioner for psychotherapy and a sociologist. He is passionate about improvisational dance (Contact Improvisation, Instant Composition, Gaga) and plays the bassoon.

Belonging versus loneliness: everybody can feel lonely sometimes.
As human beings we have a natural longing for social connection and support by others. Due to individual and structural discrimination queer people have an ever higher risk to suffer from chronic loneliness.
In cooperation with theLandesstelle für Gleichbehandlung – (Berlin State Office for the Equality of Treatment – against Discrimination) hat sich we are village | queer matters has set itself the goal for 2023/24 to offer some programming on the issue of loneliness in the queer community.

We have also created a survey to find out more about your experiences of loneliness. With your help, we can create a better program that meets your needs and with which we can create more togetherness!
