Description

Cripping Village – Dreaming Disability Justice in Queer Masculine Communities

with Breandán Drewes

“Cripping Village” is a four-part workshop series (possibly longer) centering the experiences of GBTQ* men with disabilities, chronic (physical and/or mental) illnesses, and neurodivergence. Guided by community-building approaches, the series aims to provide participants with the opportunity to share experiences and foster a sense of belonging within this space of connection. Participants will engage with a wide range of topics—such as discrimination and loneliness within the queer community, friendship, romance, sexuality, and disability politics. The goal is to lay the groundwork for a space where GBTQ* men affected by ableism can practice community. Furthermore, participants are encouraged to introduce their own topics that they would like to explore.

Breandán Drewes is a social worker and social educator with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from ASH Berlin. He has also completed further training as a sex educator at BiKo Berlin.
