Description
Embodied Consent
Learning about boundaries and communication with Harvey Rabbit
Being aware of one’s boundaries and expressing one’s agreement or disagreement are important skills in life, but we don’t often have the opportunity to practice the skill of agreement in the same way that we practice other skills, such as singing, playing sports, or learning a language.
Consensus is about much more than a simple yes or no. When we deconstruct consent, we discover how to communicate our true desires, and stop choosing things we don’t want. Through discussion, movement, and partner games, we will develop tools to express and negotiate bodily desires and set boundaries through practical exercises. This workshop is open and welcoming to people of all body sizes, genders, and backgrounds.
This is a non-sexual workshop where, without pressure, communication and touch can be practiced. It’s as much about really saying yes and meaning it as it is about saying no!
If you haven’t yet attended a consent workshop at the Village, now is the time! This experience will not only help you navigate the we.are.village community, but it will empower you to apply these values to your life. Together, we want to build a consent-based community with shared values, emphasizing the individual’s responsibility to uphold these principles. Our ultimate goal is to foster healthy relationships and create an inclusive community for a better, connected future.
This workshop will be led alternately by a German-speaking and an English-speaking teacher to ensure a perfect understanding of the subject. Please choose your session according to our schedule.
The workshop on December 16 will be held in English.
