Some Like it Hot: Introduction to sensual wax and candle play

Kink Play Touch Lab Series for Queer People
with Raf Beck

Wax play is a type of sensation play that explores the body’s reaction to suspense, heat, short bursts of stimulation, and sensory deprivation. In this practical and hands-on workshop we will explore the erotic practice of playing with hot wax, for solo or partnered play.
The workshop will cover:

  • consent and negotiation exercises in pairs
  • the physics: what is wax, the different temperatures wax melts at and what are safe (and unsafe) candles to use for wax play
  • safe places on the body to drip wax on and a range of dripping techniques
  • practical wax play: solo and in pairs
  • tips and techniques for increasing sensations
  • hardened wax on the body: removal and clean up techniques

Raf Beck is a white, British, queer, transmasc non-binary kinkster, living between Berlin and London. They are an educator, facilitator and coach, working in the areas of health, sex and BDSM. They are especially proud of their intergenerational networks and relationships.

What is Sensual Touch Lab Series for GBTQ Men*? Sensual Touch Lab Series for GBTQ Men* is a monthly workshop where we aim to create a space for sensual closeness and playful encounters. Embodied, somatic experiences that appreciate our full-bodied nature. Using sensuality as an approach to explore new ways of dealing with our own fears or patterns related to nudity, intimacy, and touch. We invite you to explore, communicate, and possibly expand your personal boundaries within a framework of mutual respect and consent. This opens up the opportunity to experience the power of touch, sensation, and non-verbal interpersonal connection. Each event will be a guided process, which will have a special touch depending on the theme and background of the facilitator*, whether it be bodywork and touch, somatics and intimacy, or something else. These short workshops may include nudity, partner exercises or close physical interactions.
