Description

Somatic Movement for the Elderly Queers: Discover Your Mobility

with Florian Filtzinger

During PRIDE month 2024, we invite our older community members & friends to a workshop specifically designed to improve mobility, reduce stress and create a deeper connection to your own body.

Through guided exercises and light movement, we invite you to deepen the dialog between your body and mind and discover a new form of well-being in an inclusive, safe and enjoyable environment.

We value diversity of bodies and experiences and especially want to provide a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community and their allies.

What can you expect?

  • Introduction to somatic movement practice: Learn basic techniques and principles for more awareness and balance in the body.
  • Movement and expression: Experiment in a safe space with movement as a means of self-discovery and expression.
  • Customized exercises: Receive personalized movement sequences specifically tailored to your needs and abilities to improve mobility and flexibility.
  • Strengthen body awareness: develop a deeper understanding and awareness of your body through mindful practice.
  • Community experience: experience the power of learning and sharing in a group of like-minded individuals

Florian Filtzinger studied Anthropology & Communication Science and worked in manifold projects of queer Berlin since 2013. Throughout his experience, he saw how most of the time our bodies needed to be of use or needed repair when they were sick or not functioning well enough. In 2017 he engaged in the study of somatics at the Somatic Academy Berlin and now offers courses to uplift the body as a true resource for wisdom, joy and depth in our lives.
