Description
Neuroqueering Village | Neurodivergent Connection & Embodiment Lab
with Monika Popiel & Paweł Świerczek
Neuroqueers, weirdos, odd-one-outs, socially awkward creatures – let’s get together to explore what it means to be neurodivergent and queer in a world that presses us to sense normal, act normal and be normal. Through playful explorations of stimming, movement, touch and voice we will explore various modes of meeting each other and being together just as we are: shy, awkward, overwhelmed, needy, too-much… Let’s exercise neurodiversity and imagine post-normal futures together.
The workshop will offer space for exchanging neurodivergent experience as well as some embodied tools for neuroqueering, navigating neurodivergent struggles and thriving in a neuronormative world. Join us no matter if you are diagnosed, undiagnosed, self-diagnosed or just feel drawn to the idea of neurodiversity and neuroqueering.
Monika Popiel – AuDHD interdisciplinary artist who graduate in theatre directing and math. They combine somatic work, textile art, multisensory instalations making with craziness about interoception, Erin Manning’s politics of touch as well as holobiont theory.
Paweł Świerczek – AuDHD performer, writer and LGBTQ+ activist, nerdy about relationality, often working with somatic tools, queer archives, burlesque and Authentic Relating. Their special interest is queerstory of Upper Silesia – region where they come from.
