Village Film Night - Rotting in the Sun

Hosted by Sebastián Arcos

Rotting in the Sun
Director: Sebastián Silva
2023 – 111 min
In Spanish with English subtitles

Getting sucked into an infinite loop of drugs, men, and dizzying mystery? That’s one cure for writer’s block! Frolicking and squabbling across the beaches, clubs, and rooftops of Mexico, Sebastián Silva and Jordan Firstman play hilarious versions of themselves in this absurd and sexy meta-comedy.

Join us for a playful and provocative journey into the sun-soaked chaos of creativity, desire, and self-destruction. Directed by Chilean filmmaker Sebastián Silva, Rotting in the Sun is a sharp, self-aware satire that blurs the lines between reality and fiction, exploring the absurdities of the creative process, social media personas, and queer identity.
